How to save on lighting

Recent government innovations regarding incandescent lamps, namely the ban on the sale of products with a capacity of more than one hundred watts, hinted at the need for energy savings and the purchase of LED bulbs. But still, no, no, and we forget to turn off the light, and it burns without any need. And the counter continues to rotate at a frantic speed.

But the yard is already the twenty-first century, and many inventions have been invented to save energy. We’ll talk about them, darlings, but at the same time we will get acquainted with some tricks that allow us to save money on lighting without breaking the seals from the electric meter.

Setting priorities

Hefty chandeliers with five hundred watts are recommended if you do not dismantle, then precisely unscrew the bulbs from a pair of shades. There is a reason to buy LEDs instead of old incandescent bulbs, this will give a tangible plus in the long run.

You can get by with directional light sources - table lamps, for example. They require much less power than when using chandeliers. This is especially felt if the rooms have high ceilings. The gain when using table lamps can be almost half. Unless, of course, take into account the cost of their acquisition.

There are so-called adjustable lights, due to their use, depending on the situation, you can change the illumination of the room.

Without taking into account the cost of equipment for efficient lighting, the cost of light can be reduced by a factor of three to four. Another thing is that the investment will pay off not one or two months, since most of the energy costs are spent on heating (if there is no central heating). You can’t turn off the refrigerator either, the TV will most likely work as it did.

Guard Progress

In order not to torment yourself and the switch, you can make the so-called smart home by tapping everywhere sensors of sound, heat, motion, a photo relay and other ingenious devices. But again, everything depends on their value.

There is a reason for the installation (by the way, if you do not think about electricity, then the installation will also cost a pretty penny) there is definitely when the room is large, several floors, and there are dozens of light sources. Otherwise, it may happen that the relay is covered with a copper basin faster than beats its value. Then the whole point of such automation is to splurge guests and friends.

Street lighting: successful combinations

If you have your own courtyard, you can arrange the lighting in it in such a way that the diffused light gets into the windows, and there was no need to put the switch in the middle of the night in the case of, say, a night raid to the refrigerator or a hike.

There are LED lamps powered by solar panels. They do not consume a watt of energy. Their minus is at a solid cost, so they are useful in the long run.

Street lighting should be used with a photo relay, so that it starts to work with the onset of twilight. The motion sensor is suitable if there is no need for constant lighting in the dark.

Smart home lighting

In the bathroom, toilet and in the kitchen, it is definitely worth putting lights with a motion sensor. Even if the pleasure seems expensive, do not forget that conventional switches eventually fail from frequent use. Yes, and not everyone has a memory like that of Julius Caesar.

Not entirely new, but few people know

You can use the remote control not only to switch the television channels from a horizontal position. There are also lamps, complete with which "lazy people" are delivered. A very convenient thing, and you can not only turn the light on and off, but also change the lighting modes.

Practical advice for a young housewife

Do not neglect the elementary cleaning and washing the glass. If the window is overgrown with dust and cobwebs - a house will reign in the gloom, and this at first glance is not obvious. But the fact becomes apparent after a good cleaning: it is worth wiping off the dust from the ceiling and - lo and behold! The lamp begins to give a lot more light. Wide open curtains allow you to turn on the lights half an hour later in the evening. And half an hour daily during the year is 182 hours per year.

In addition to the above methods, one more option can be offered: install a two-tariff day / night meter. Usually the lighting is turned on at night, and the tariff at night is less than the daytime. This thing will pay off faster than any housekeepers, relays, sensors and other devices.

And yet - a washing machine, one of the main eaters of electricity and water, it is better (for this reason) to operate it at night.
